Jennifer MacCarthy is Head of Community and Marketing at TCG. She brings extensive marketing, communications and strategy experience in the lifestyle, luxury, hospitality, retail and entertainment spaces. For the last ten years her work has been heavily focused on e-commerce and direct-to-consumer businesses. Most recently, she consulted on marketing, communications and strategy for a diverse group of clients including media and fashion startups, luxury hotel groups, consumer tech company Ember and The Walt Disney Company. Prior to consulting, Jennifer was Director of Integrated Marketing for the online, off-price division of Nordstrom, an e-commerce business with annual revenue of over $1B. Before that, she led brand marketing and communications for BeachMint, a venture-backed e-commerce startup with partners including Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen, Kate Bosworth, Rachel Bilson, Justin Timberlake and more. Jennifer spent five years in hospitality and real estate development, working directly for André Balazs (owner/creator of The Standard hotels, The Mercer, The Chateau Marmont, Sunset Beach and more) as Chief of Staff and later as Director of Marketing and Events for the four properties in Los Angeles. After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, Jennifer began her career in global communications for luxury fashion designers Michael Kors at CÉLINE, Helmut Lang, Jil Sander and Raf Simons. Jennifer holds a bachelor of arts in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario.
