Matti Suutarinen Bio

My career in private equity began in 1984 as the CFO of Sponsor Capital’s predecessor Sponsor Oy, and later as its managing director. In 1997, I was involved in setting up the operations of Sponsor Capital. The biggest difference to previous state of affairs is that Sponsor Capital is nowadays a partnership owned by its partners. I’ve had the chance to experience the many ups and downs of the Finnish economy during my career. This has provided me with perspective also into the current investment environment. The best aspect of my career has been the chance to work with very many different types of companies. I’ve also enjoyed the collaboration with my colleagues who possess diverse professional skills. It has been a pleasure to see our successful involvement in the support and development of our portfolio companies.
