I was involved in the establishment of Sponsor as a young man, back in 1997. The private equity industry has developed and become a lot more professional since then. Nevertheless, the industry still offers plenty of challenges and you never run out of chances for self-development. Private equity is not just number crunching, but very practical cooperation with a company’s management, requiring a feel for the social aspect of business and enthusiasm. My career has given me the chance to be involved in plenty of great success stories, including Realia, Saunatec, MedOne, Lujapalvelut, Barona, Plastiroll and Orthex. A relaxed, yet professional, approach has guided the operations of Sponsor from the very beginning. I believe that it has also been passed on to the companies we’ve been involved in. We’re entrepreneurs ourselves, which is why it is easy for us to relate to the problems and thoughts of managers and entrepreneurs.
