Tara Genstil Bio

Prior to joining SBJ in 2018 as a part-time CFO, Tara spent seven years at Alpine Investors, an investment firm with over $1 billion under management. As the VP Finance and Chief Compliance Officer, Tara was responsible for the financial, tax, and administrative aspects of the general partnerships, funds, and management company. She was also responsible for SEC and all other compliance matters for the firm. Prior to joining Alpine Investors, Tara was the Controller at TPG Opportunities Partners in San Francisco, where she built out the accounting function and department. She was previously an Assistant Controller at TPG Capital responsible for the global management company accounting as well as Broker Dealer accounting and regulatory compliance. Tara graduated with High Honors with a BA in Accounting and Spanish from Michigan State University. She also earned an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Southern Methodist University. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in three states. In a prior life before children, Tara enjoyed piano, yoga, and running. Now she just runs after the little ones.
