Eugene Lai Bio

Eugene is responsible for deal generation, execution and portfolio monitoring at Southern Capital. Prior to Southern Capital, Eugene was a Managing Director of The Carlyle Group's Asia Buyout business and a Managing Director at JP Morgan. Eugene was also the former Chief Executive Officer of The Ascott Group Limited, one of the largest serviced apartment businesses in the world. Eugene holds an LLB from The London School of Economics and Political Science, where he graduated with First Class Honors, and an LLM from Harvard Law School.
