Matt Baker Bio

Matt Baker is Vice President of Portfolio Operations responsible for day to day operational excellence and engineering best practices across the SDC portfolio. Matt spent the last 2 years managing 20+ colocation data centers as a Regional Director and Director of Engineering for CyrusOne under the CBRE DCS Platform. Prior to CBRE, Matt was the Site Director for Sentinel Data Centers where he was responsible for managing the construction, engineering and operations of Sentinel’s enterprise-class colocation data center in the Research Triangle Park of North Carolina. Matt also spent 5 years as a mission critical operations Division Officer and nuclear engineer aboard the USS Tennessee, a ballistic missile submarine. Matt holds a BS in Physics from the United States Naval Academy, and a MS in Applied Physics/Materials Science from UNC-Chapel Hill. Matt is currently enrolled in UNC Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler EMBA Program and is slated for completion in 2020.
