Michael Trefz Bio

Mr. Trefz joined Oaktree’s Americas Institutional Marketing team in 2019 with coverage responsibilities for institutional clients and prospects in the Midwest region. Before joining Oaktree, Mr. Trefz was a managing director with Solus Alternative Asset Management, where he covered institutional clients for the firm’s offerings including distressed debt, special situations, and performing credit strategies. Prior thereto, Mr. Trefz worked at Brevan Howard Asset Management, where he was a senior marketing representative covering institutional clients in the Americas for all of the firm’s strategies. Mr. Trefz received a B.S. in finance from the University of Connecticut cum laude and is a CFA charterholder.
