Katherine Gurney Bio

Katherine participates in all aspects of Northleaf’s private markets investment activities, working closely with individual deal teams and external legal counsel on the review, structure, completion and management of investments. Katherine also directs and handles the legal and structural elements of Northleaf’s investor relations, business development and fund formation activities. Katherine is primarily responsible for managing Northleaf’s regulatory relationships, compliance matters and corporate structure. Prior to joining Northleaf’s predecessor, TD Capital, in 2008, Katherine was a partner with McCarthy Tétrault, specializing in the structuring and offering of investment funds (including private markets funds) and investment advisor regulation. Katherine was external counsel to TD Capital from 2004 to 2008. Katherine received a B.A. (Honours) from the University of Western Ontario and an LL.B. from Queen’s University.
