Ian is co-Founder and Managing Partner of Magnesium Capital. He has over 25 years’ experience in private equity, with an exceptional investment track record in technology-related businesses. Before founding Magnesium Capital, Ian was an equity partner at Apax Partners, the London-based buyout firm with over $40 billion in assets under management. He joined Apax in 1997 and later became a member of the six-person International Investment Committee, Exit Committee and Portfolio Review Committee which oversaw all of Apax’s investment activity globally. Ian has an MA in Maths & Computer Science from King’s College, Cambridge where he is an Honorary Fellow, and an MBA from Warwick Business School. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
