James Mitchell Bio

James is a Partner at Keensight Capital. Prior to Keensight, he spent 7 years with H.I.G. Capital in the UK, where he was Head of Healthcare for Europe. He focused on proprietary deal flow across northern Europe, seated on portfolio companies’ boards, completed 12 add-on acquisitions, performed numerous refinancings including public bond raisings, and led exit processes. Prior to joining H.I.G. Capital, James was a Manager in the European Healthcare practice of Bain & Company. He started his career as a Medical Doctor in surgical oncology of Royal Marsden Hospitals London and University of Sydney Hospitals, Sydney. An Irish citizen, James holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Master’s degree from University of Nottingham. He graduated from Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is part of the Surgical Research Fellowship NTU (United States) and Traveling Plastic Surgery Fellowship (Belize). He was awarded the Preiskel Prize in Academic Surgery for Surgical research in developing countries.
