Erich Becker is a Senior Managing Director and Head of Europe at Generate Capital. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the energy sector, having worked both as engineer as well as investor. Prior to Generate, Erich founded his own investment firm Exergy Capital Management LLP dedicated to providing funding and expert support for solutions driving the global energy transition. During his career, he also served as a Senior Managing Director at Macquarie Group heading up a business pursuing principal investment, an energy sector investor at Och-Ziff Capital Management Group, and as Executive Director of Goldman Sachs International’s principal power and power-related fuels investment and trading businesses. Erich started his professional career as engineer focusing on power plant design and optimization. Erich earned a Doctorate in applied thermodynamics, a Master’s degree in process engineering at the Technical University of Vienna, Austria, and a Master’s degree in business administration from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.
