Marc Stoneham Bio

Marc has a lifelong passion for building the leading companies of the African continent and has lived and worked for most of his career across the continent. Marc leads the portfolio management team, partnering with DPI’s portfolio companies to implement DPI’s portfolio plans. He is a member and observer of multiple portfolio company Boards and Board committees and has a particular interest in the retail, microfinance, manufacturing, and agricultural sectors. Prior to DPI, Marc worked at McKinsey & Company serving African and other emerging market clients across multiple industries and functions, with a focus on natural resources. Prior to McKinsey, Marc worked in private equity at Actis and Kingdom Zephyr, and for Accenture strategy consulting. He has lived and worked across Africa including many years in Nigeria and Egypt and speaks French and English. Marc holds a BA(Hons) in Modern History from the University of Oxford (1st class) and an MBA from INSEAD (Dean’s List). Marc is a British citizen.
