L.P.M. (Leo) Zijerveld (MSc) worked at Zijerveld Cheese Wholesale, after completing his study in Fiscal Economics (Erasmus University Rotterdam). He then gained experience in providing business loans at Staal Bankiers NV. At the same time, he was active as a Secretary of Residentie Participatiemaatschappij BV. In 1993 he initiated and founded Écart.
