Pierre Abinakle Bio

Pierre oversees the CPP Investments Enterprise Legal team, including the management of external legal counsel. Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2016, Pierre was chief compliance officer and legal counsel of an Abu Dhabi headquartered GE Capital joint venture, serving as director on more than a dozen companies across several jurisdictions. Prior to that, Pierre practiced general corporate law with a focus on mergers and acquisitions for a number of years as a senior associate at Allen & Overy LLP. Pierre holds a Common Law and a Civil Law degree from the University of Ottawa, and a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from Duke University. Pierre is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Law Society of England and Wales, and the New York Bar.
