Bio

Dan Rowe serves as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Sword Rowe, having joined the firm as a consultant in 2000 and worked under Bill Sword Jr. for ten years until Bill’s untimely passing in 2012. Dan leads the firm’s efforts within the music industry, where he is a strategic and financial advisor to numerous companies including Atlas Music Publishing, PledgeMusic, and MixCloud. Additionally, Dan oversees all of the firm’s principal investing activities through Sword Rowe Capital. Prior to Sword Rowe, Dan worked within the music industry across a series of operating roles, most recently in the finance department at TVT Records, formerly one of the largest independent record labels in the country, and TVT Music Publishing. Earlier in his career, Dan was a music manager serving artists such as Kool & The Gang and George Clinton. Dan has also founded three entertainment businesses including Sonibyte, a web-based podcasting technology company. As Founder and CEO of Sonibyte, Dan was responsible for acquiring and managing large media clients such as Time Inc. and Conde Nast. He was also the founder of artist-friendly record label Wondermore Records and a founding partner of Atlas Music Publishing. In a parallel second career, Dan has been an active musician and record producer. He has an extensive resume as a songwriter, performer, producer, and audio engineer, with a discography that includes albums on Sony, BMG, and Windham Hill. For the past twelve years, Dan has collaborated with his wife, Americana singer/songwriter Charlotte Kendrick. Charlotte and Dan have produced four albums, played over 400 shows together, and currently perform as Americana duo Goodbye Blue. Dan is a member of the Recording Academy and the Americana Music Association. Dan received his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. While at Tuck, he founded and chaired the Tuck Media & Entertainment Symposium, a content-focused media conference focused on uniting the artistic and business communities within Dartmouth. He also spent a semester studying French and international business at the HEC School of Management in Paris. Dan holds two Bachelors degrees from Ithaca College: a B.M. in Music Composition and a B.A. in Math-Economics. He currently resides in Princeton, NJ with Charlotte and their three children.
