Alastair graduated from the University of Aberdeen with a law degree (LLB). He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) in 1991 and then spent three years with KPMG based in Paris. Prior to joining Stamford Partners, Alastair worked for approximately 18 years with Paribas and Deutsche Bank where he was a long-standing Managing Director in the European Consumer & Retail team. Over the course of his investment banking career, Alastair has advised on a large number of notable transactions (mergers, acquisitions, disposals and defence assignments) across the wider consumer space in the UK, Europe and beyond, including the sale of Danisco to DuPont, the sale of Lebedyansky to PepsiCo, the sale of Danisco Sugar to Nordzucker and the merger of First Choice plc with the tourism assets of TUI AG to create TUI Travel plc. Alastair is a fluent French speaker. Alastair is also a Board member and Trustee of Whizz-Kidz, a leading UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of disabled children through the provision of essential mobility equipment and training. Alastair is married with two children.
