Arjen is the Managing Partner at Mahler Corporate Finance. Prior to establishing Mahler CF, Arjen spent over 20 years at ABN AMRO / RBS of which 15 years in the Merger & Acquisitions department. As Executive Director, Arjen executed a large number of advisory assignments across various industries. Arjen is a seasoned deal maker who has led and completed numerous complex transactions. A few recent examples are: the sale of Agrifac Machinery to Exel Industries SA, the sale of Thomassen Compression Systems to Howden Ltd., the EU remedies sales of Friesland Campina’s fresh business in Nijkerk to Arla, the restructuring of the cooperative capital base for Friesland Foods, the divestment of the CSM Sugar business to Cosun, the sale of De Ruiter Seeds to Monsanto. Arjen has also been active in politics for 16 years both at a local level in Amsterdam and at province level in Noord-Holland. He occupied positions ranging from chairman of committees to (vice) chairman of a political party. He is also vice chairman of the supervisory board of NV Afvalzorg Holding. Arjen studied Agricultural Engineering and Economics at Wageningen University and partly at Cornell University in NY USA.
