David leads DBO’s coverage of Data and Analytics companies, providing strategic advice on M&A and financing transactions. More broadly, he is known as a thought leader and hands-on advisor to growth companies in industries where technology plays a transformative role. David has completed well over 100 transactions in his career. David also serves as DBO’s COO and CCO, working to ensure smooth operations, access to the best information and highly available technology solutions, and compliance with industry regulations. David joined DBO in 2015. He has over 30 years of experience in investment banking and began his career at Morgan Stanley followed by a dozen years at Montgomery Securities and Donaldson Lufkin Jenrette. David founded, built and sold East Peak Advisors, one of the early boutique advisory firms focused on emerging technology companies. David earned a BS in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley and a MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business. He was a member of the 1984 US Olympic Rowing Team and finished sixth in the pair without coxswain event. David relaunched his international rowing career as a masters athlete a few years ago at the Marin Rowing Association and recently accomplished a life-long goal of winning the Head of the Charles.
