James is Managing Director and founder of Capital SCF. He specialises in the Software, Internet and Computer Services sector. The disruption to the sector, manifested in Cloud Computing and Software as a Service, is an area of particular interest. Before founding Capital SCF in 2008 James was Head of European Software & Services Equity Research at Credit Suisse which he joined in 1999. While running the Equity Research team at Credit Suisse, James ranked number 1 in his sector in the 2006 Financial Times Starmine awards, he and his team also ranked 1st in the 2007 Extel survey, 2nd in the 2008 Institutional Investor poll for European Software and his team were ranked in the top 3 by Institutional Investor in the European Software category every year from 2000 to 2008. With over a decade of experience in public markets focused on the Software, IT services and Internet sectors, James helped to bring a number of companies to the public market, including Amadeus, Devoteam, Ision and Moneysupermarket.com. Prior to Credit Suisse, James worked as a consultant to British Airways Airport Service Development on the design of management information systems and business process change. James read French at Kings College, London for his Bachelors degree.
