Jim Goldfarb is a Founder of Broadstream and is the firm's Managing Partner. Since Broadstream opened in 2001, Jim has lead all of Broadstream capital raising and M&A transactions. Immediately prior to Broadstream, Jim was the Vice President of Corporate Development at MP3.com. Previously, Jim was a Principal at Knowledge Universe, a private investment firm backed by the Milken family and Larry Ellison, focused on acquisitions of education and training companies. Prior to Knowledge Universe, Jim was an associate at Bain Capital. Jim began his career as an analyst at McKinsey & Company. Jim graduated Magna Cum Laude from Duke University where he was admitted to Phi Beta Kappa. (His mother insisted that the last part be included). In his four years at Duke, he did not miss a single home basketball game. Jim serves on the board of Film Solutions, LLC, and is a past Board member of Peace Over Violence, a Los Angeles based non-profit. Jim and his wife and two daughters live in the Los Angeles area.
