Jean-Philippe Buteau Bio

Jean-Philippe Buteau areas of practice include mergers and acquisitions and financing. He primarily assists public companies and investment dealers and is experienced in all types of corporate finance, mergers, acquisition and divestitures. Mr. Buteau represents clients in a variety of industries with a focus on mining, resources and energy. He has advised clients in a number of cross-border transactions, including the creation of joint ventures and the acquisition and sale of mining properties in various countries. Mr. Buteau’s project experience includes precious and base metals as well as diamonds, uranium, rare earth and industrial minerals. Mr. Buteau has also participated in a number of commercial transactions, including initial public offerings, reverse takeovers, qualifying transactions of capital pool companies, acquisition of local and foreign companies, and public and private financings for which he has acted as counsel to both dealers and issuers. Before joining us in 2013, Mr. Buteau was a partner practising at the Quebec City office of another major Canadian law firm.
