Linda Moin Moroney maintains a litigation and counseling practice that extends throughout California and nationwide. In addition to commercial litigation and general liability litigation, much of her practice is focused on the successful defense of public and private employers in numerous types of legal matters: workplace investigations, pre-litigation demands, administrative claims, arbitrations, as well as lawsuits in several federal and state courts. Ms. Moroney proactively counsels and defends management against claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower reprisals, hostile work environment, disability accommodation, family medical leave laws, ADA violations, wage and hour violations, including wage and hour class action litigation, and other alleged misconduct. In addition to state and federal lawsuits, arbitrations, and grievances, she regularly handles claims involving the NLRB, DOL, DIR/DLSE, EEOC, DFEH, HRC, and other administrative agencies. Ms. Moroney has over 20 years of experience defending long-term clients, ranging from small regional business owners and start-up companies to global Fortune 100 corporations and executives, as well as universities, health systems/ hospitals, biotech companies, non-profit organizations, hospitality (hotel and restaurant) clients, and other prominent institutions. In her role as coordinating counsel for some clients, she oversees teams of lawyers and paralegals, ensuring that all are consistently responsive, efficient, and not just meeting, but exceeding the clients' expectations. By providing high-quality, yet cost-effective service at all times, Ms. Moroney and her group have achieved a very loyal client base. In addition to her more than 20 years of accomplished litigation, trial and arbitration expertise, Ms. Moroney has significant alternative dispute resolution experience, having successfully handled countless mediations, settlement conferences, and informal negotiations. Moreover, she frequently conducts workplace investigations and also provides employment training, continuing legal education and various seminars/ programs for employers, executives, corporate clients, hospitality clients, insurers, third party administrators, brokers, and many others. From 2010 through 2016, Ms. Moroney served as the Assistant Managing Partner of the San Francisco office. For several years, Ms. Moroney has also served as a Practice Group Leader, and she currently heads the Women’s Initiative in San Francisco, in addition to other management responsibilities. Ms. Moroney is very proud to have launched and co-chaired the San Francisco Ladder Down program for women attorneys. This intensive, year-long mentoring program offered hands-on training on leadership, business development and other salient skills to a number of Bay Area women attorneys.
