Robert Urquhart Bio

Robert Urquhart joined Simmons Energy | A Division of Piper Sandler® in 2020. Previously, Urquhart was a managing director within the energy investment banking group at Scotiabank, where he focused primarily on upstream. Prior to that, he was an associate at Madison Williams and a Portfolio Manager at PEAK6 Investments. Urquhart has completed a wide range of transactions including corporate mergers & acquisitions, asset divestitures, joint ventures, public and private equity financings, strategic alternatives, and restructurings. Urquhart focuses on the upstream oil and gas sector and has worked on over 40 successful transactions, representing approximately $20 billion in aggregate value. Urquhart graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor’s degree in political economics. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree with concentrations in finance and accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
