Mark Filippell Bio

Mark co-founded Western Reserve Partners in 2004, which was acquired by Citizens in 2017 and is a member of the Industrials teams with expertise in Aerospace & Defense, Capital Equipment and Metals & Mining. Prior to co-founding Western Reserve, Mark was Manager of the Mergers & Acquisitions Department at KeyBanc Capital Markets and McDonald Investments. Earlier Mark was Assistant General Manager of Comau S.P.A. in Turin, Italy, Europe’s second largest factory automation company. He started his career at McKinsey & Company. During Mark’s career he has closed over 130 M&A transactions, many with international buyers. He authored the book “Mergers & Acquisitions Playbook; Lessons From The Middle-Market Trenches,” published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Mark is a graduate of DePauw University where he was class valedictorian. He received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his JD from Michigan Law School where he was a Senior Editor of the “Michigan Law Review”.
